About

Matthew Flemister’s areas of practice include criminal law and family law. Matthew has successfully represented thousands of people throughout the State of Arkansas. He has extensive trial experience defending clients wrongfully accused of crimes. He understands the consequences of a criminal conviction, and how it can negatively impact a person’s life for many years to come. As such, he is passionate about helping minimize the damage of criminal charges on a person’s life. Matthew’s number one priority is to aggressively look for ways to win cases and fight to get great outcomes for the clients of Nelson & Marks, PLLC.

Additionally, Matthew has vast experience helping his clients navigate the complexities of a family law case. He has handled matters related to divorce, custody, guardianship, and child support with much success. He works diligently to obtain the best result for his client and their family.

Matthew earned his law degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Bowen School of Law. After law school, Matthew gained valuable experience as a judicial law clerk for the Arkansas Supreme Court. Prior to joining Nelson & Marks, he worked for years at two of the largest law firms in Central & Northwest Arkansas.

In 2016, Matthew was appointed to the Arkansas Child Welfare Agency Review Board by Governor Asa Hutchinson. Recently, he was named a Super Lawyers 2021 Mid-South Rising Stars and recognized as one of the top attorneys, under 40 years old, in the entire Mid-South region.

Matthew lives in Northwest Arkansas with his wife and daughter. In his free time, he enjoys attending Razorback sporting events and spending time with his family.
